* Swedish Relaxation Massage This is the massage most people are familiar with. Swedish Relaxation is just that...RELAXING! The entire body is massaged from head to toe and the client is left feeling completely relaxed and stress free.
* Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage This type of massage addresses "problem" areas that are sore, injured or chronically in pain. The techniques used get deeper into the muscle tissue to relieve adhesions, scarring and knotting of muscles and fascia (the "skin-like" covering around muscles and groups of muscles). Contrary to the title, DEEP does not always mean heavier pressure. A skilled therapist can do deep work without resorting to heavy pressure. All massages, including therapeutic deep tissue massage, are geared to the clients comfort level.
* Pregnancy/Postpartum Massage Massage for Mothers-to-be is an incredible way to alleviate the unique pains of pregnancy. Low Back Pain, Hip Pain, Sciatica, Leg Swelling and Cramping are just some of the issues that can be safely massaged by a certified Pregnancy Massage Therapist. Massage can holistically relieve pain - no drugs! At Massage Therapy For Health pregnant clients are skillfully propped with pillows to achieve the most comfortable positions that reduce stress on the weight bearing joints. Postpartum clients can enjoy a little "me" time while recuperating from the birthing process. Massage helps regain a pre-pregnant posture and can be very helpful after C-section births (abdominal massage and scar work).
* Infant Massage Classes This 2 hour class is designed to teach the parent/caregiver of a 0-6 month old infant (pre-crawling) how to massage his/her own baby. It gives basic relaxation stroke techniques, ideas for sedating and for waking babies and skills in dealing with colicky babies and restless babies. Touch is important to an infant's well being and is a great way to bond.
* Ashiatsu Bar Massage This ancient form of barefoot massage uses the feet of the therapist to apply deep luxurious pain-free compression strokes to the body. (Ashi means "Foot" and Atsu means "pressure") Bars over the table are used to stabilize the therapist while the entire massage is done with the feet. This massage will put you in a "zone". Although the pressure is deep, it is over a much wider area (the area covered by the therapist's feet) and therefore is not painful. This massage is appropriate for most clients wanting a relaxing massage and can also be tailored for the client who wants a Really Deep massage and can't seem to find one using the traditional method. My clients are calling it "Intense Relaxation"! (NOTE: This technique is not "walking on the back") Click Here to see Ashiatsu Video (.wmv format).
* Chair Massage Chair Massage is a great way to introduce the world to massage. The therapist comes to a location with a portable padded Massage Chair (specially designed with comfort in mind). The client remains clothed and no oils are used. Typically a chair massage lasts 5 -15 minutes but can be surprisingly effective in relaxing a client or working out a "kink". Chair Massage is great for office visits, health fairs, sporting events or parties. Click Here to view Chair Massage Contract
