 THERAPIST'S BIO
Massage Therapy For Health is solely owned and operated by Liliane Sklenarik C.L.M.T. (Certified, Licensed, Massage Therapist)
I grew up in upstate NY and attended college in western NY where I received a Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree. As an engineer I worked several years in the TV industry (behind the scenes - not in front of the camera). Moving to the Massachusetts area in 1991, I switched over to the computer world. The work was OK but I felt un-fulfilled.
I decided to go back to school and take Massage Therapy - to find fulfillment in a part-time hobby of sorts. Just before graduating from my 2-year program at Massage School, I got laid off at my engineering job. I took this as a BIG sign that I should go into massage full time and have never looked back. I started Massage Therapy For Health in 2001 as a full time therapist.
Working in the massage field has brought me more satisfaction than I had ever dreamed. My job is to make people feel better. Some of my clients come to me in severe pain and I am able to help them. It doesn't get better than that!
My massage qualifications are as follows: - Graduated 2001 from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy, Worcester, MA - Certified in Kate Jordan's "Body Work for the Child Bearing Years" - a Pregnancy/Postpartum course - Certified to teach "Well Baby Infant Massage" Classes - Completed "Child Birth Education" Classes - Certified in Ashiatsu Bar Massage Levels I, II, III & IV (Beginner & Advanced) through Barefoot Masters
- Certified in Cupping Therapy Massage through ICTA (International Cupping Therapy Association)
- Professional Member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) - Nationally Certified through the NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Body Workers) - Reiki III Master Level - Massachusetts State License for Massage Therapist #254 Exp 10/28/12 - Massachusetts State License for Massage Establishment #142 Exp 12/30/12
When I am not saving the world one massage at a time I keep busy with music (I play several instruments - currently Violin in a string quartet), quilting (so much material - so little time!) and sports (Yoga, Jazzercise, Kayaking, Biking, Down Hill Skiing, Swimming). I am happily married to the most wonderful man in the world and we enjoy his 3 kids and (gulp!) 8 grandkids!
I have started a second career in Quilt Art. To view my alter-ego, click www.KaleidoQuilt.com.
